Pencil & Paper ?

Pencil & Paper ?

October 29, 2016 Posted by Joan Wight 7 Comments

October 29th – 2016

Anyone know the song, ? “School days, school days, Good old fashioned rule days. Reading and writing and ‘rithmatic?” ? Well here at HATS the kids are into all that and more.

The kids are doing well and still keen about school. They run off to school each morning with smiles and enthusiasm. That enthusiasm is spilling over into homework time too. It is early days after all.

Whether memorizing their “lecon” ( lesson),

Or helping each other out with last minute revision, they are keen.

School begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 12:15. That is the normal length of a school day, but here it is better to do most of it before it gets really hot. After a little break it is homework time and so far so good.

But after homework is done, they all love to color. From the youngest Dickieson right up to Leica, this is their favorite activity with paper and pencil.

    Hi Joan and Keith,
Nice to know you are getting settled and the children are the focus.
We are home after a trip to Montreal to visit our latest addition, Marlo, as well as Eric and Nati.
Then it was off to the cottage to wait for the Septic Tank cleaning company to come by and empty the tanks, This is done once every 4 years. The man remarked there was not much to take out. Of course he didn’t know the cottage is not well used these days.
Then Bob and I spent time protecting the cedar hedge from the deer during the winter. This meant installing a long cover and then making sure it was secured in place.
We have had an Offer to Purchase on the cottage for nest May 1. This of course means we now have to really get rid of all kinds of “stuff” which Dad had kept.
    Keep posting the blogs.
We will keep you and the complex in our thoughts and prayers until you return.
    Bill

Hi Joan, Thinking of you and praying for you both. We miss you at Bible study:) I hope you have an opportunity to finish the study. It’s been a wonderful reminder of Gods faithfulness, even in difficult circumstances. Love to you both, Dorothy

I loved your comment “it is still early days” when talking about their enthusiasm for school work> It is great to see them at work and at play. You are doing an awesome job with them.
