Just before dark last evening Luckner pulled up in the truck with some very precious cargo. Mama Karen and Ti Luc are back from an extended visit to Canada. For the past couple of days there has been much joy, cleaning and anticipation of their return. Family time, vacation and doctor’s appointments are finished for now. They are back home where they belong and the kids are delighted.

There Were Hugs

There was a Welcome Sign

There was Dancing

There was a Reunion with Tifi

And then there was another surprise…?

Josiah, Karen’s grandson appeared out of the truck. He had travelled from Calgary with them to be Karen’s baggage porter and Ti Luc’s personal valet. More hooping and hollering. And he is staying for a few days too!

The kids couldn’t believe Josiah was here too!

Joan and Keith Wight have been involved with HATS since 2011. Keith is a retired airline pilot and previously volunteered with missions in Belize, Zimbabwe, Panama and Honduras in various capacities. Joan is a retired music teacher and uses her abilities to assist with the office work and tutor the children at HATS. Since retiring they have committed to 4 months per year in Haiti. They live in Montreal and have 3 daughters, 2 son-in-laws and 2 grandsons and 2 grand-daughters.
