Terror In Haiti Approaching Our Mission (HATS-Haiti)

Terror In Haiti Approaching Our Mission (HATS-Haiti)

April 7, 2025

Greetings everyone.

Thank you to all our friends, followers and supporters of prayer and finances for the work of HATS-Haiti.

I last did a blog update at end of November, bringing you up to date with HATS, and wishing you all a Merry Christmas 2024, and a good 2025.

I also wrote about some of the sad and horrible things that were going on in Haiti in 2006 and which have continued to get much worse year after year.

That folks is more that four months ago. I apologize for not writing again sooner, but being honest, I have to admit that each time I sat at my computer to try to write you, my keyboard would get much too wet to type, as my tears would start falling about what was happening to my other country and my beloved people. I would walk away time and again unable to get the words out. The things happening there, the atrocities being done to good innocent people, the unnecessary immense suffering of precious people breaks my heart.

Today I am determined to write, as you all should know the latest on the HATS-Haiti Mission, all the pain and suffering of good people all around us, and that the gangs/bandits/terrorists/assassinators are slowly and steadily moving our way.

Kidnapping started happening for ransom around our area in 2006.  Maybe they thought kidnapping a ‘blan’ (white person) would bring them more money, as three Kidnap attempts were made on my very own life, but my Heavenly Father did not allow anything to happen to me.

Over the years kidnapping continued, as well grabbing of girls who became gang slaves in kitchen duties and gang rapes. Boys were taught how to become like their captors and how to shoot people. Do these things or die!! Gangs have been recruiting a lot of children often with a promise of food for them and their families. This, especially being told they could take food home to their families,  sounded like a way out to starving children.

These gang members/bandits have become much more powerful over the years and have been armed with huge automatic guns which continue to enter the country illegally through the US, which have been, and continue to be, used to assassinate a lot of people.

With me being stuck in Canada since 2020, the last time Luc and I could get down, due to immense danger, roads being blocked, and planes unable to fly into the country, Luckner Estimable has been doing an amazing job with all the work of HATS. Luckner and I are in contact almost daily, often several times a day.

Things have been heating up badly out our way lately. The terrorists/gang members entered and took over Mirebalais this past week, moving ever closer towards our area. They emptied the hospital, and emptied and burned the bank and police station, releasing all 582 prisoners. They assassinated hundreds of people including two nuns who were hiding in a house with children.

Most of the people in the area left on foot to get away from Mirebalais and the these extremely evil people, some heading towards Hinche while others headed our way.  These bandits/terrorists also took over Sodo, and burned the whole town.

Many people from Lachapelle went to Verrettes looking for safety. A large number who had to run from Mirebalais headed to Lachapelle. These people are trying to hide there for now, but have no food.

Luckner knows that he and all those he is working with and helping, have a big problem. What should they do? Where can they go? Whatever they do or wherever they go they will be in danger.  He and others there know that when the bandits/terrorists arrive in our area they will burn everything.

Luckner has already put every important document in a valise that is with him! Others have done likewise.  But to take with them where????

Our mission HATS-Haiti has always helped people throughout our area. We formed a part of our mission work that I named Mercy Ministry. We were able to keep many people alive with food, and other necessities, and provided funds to help with funerals when needed.

Thank you to all of you who over the years donated to HATS which enabled us to continue the work of the Mercy Ministry.

Thank you to the couple here in Springdale who recently made a donation towards food, your donation funds are presently being put to good use to help people in desperate need.

HATS-Haiti is respected and well liked and trusted. As Luckner says we have become to the people the parents of the surrounding area. We are the model for the community. The people look to us and follow our example. They have their confidence in HATS and they follow our direction.

The help that we have been able to provide for years is now desperately needed by huge numbers of people. Luckner said the people are under major tension, major pressure and they all are walking around with their hearts broken.

I am safe in Canada. As I already mentioned it has been impossible to get back there. The people throughout our area are looking to HATS-Haiti’s own Luckner Estimable for direction. This is an extremely stressful time for all people but I know from experience that Luckner has to be carrying the brunt of it!!

Luckner needs our prayers folks!!!

The bandits/gang members/terrorists have announced that their plan is to enter our area.  They will do as they always do, crash and burn everything, and kill anyone they find hiding away.

A couple of nights ago Luckner felt led to spend most of the night at his radio station, singing praise with the people listening, giving the word of God, and praying for and with people. Several pastors called in to say they would come there and spend all of the following night doing likewise with him. A large number of people in our area were extremely thankful for this.

The last couple of days Luckner has been quite busy collecting and preparing support kits to be sent to the town of Lachapelle to those people there without food who ran away from the bandits who took over, burned important buildings, assassinated many and emptied the town of Mirebalais.

Yesterday he was planning to send at least one vehicle full of prepared product kits. Rice, beans, cornmeal, detergent, herrings, hygienic kits, etc. are in these prepared kits, and was being taken to very hungry people.

I solicit your prayers for Luckner, all the people who are helping him, all the terrified people in this area, all our children, and all our school children and their families who realize the axe can fall at any time.

HATS has always been ‘ALL ABOUT THE CHILDREN’.

It still is but now we are about helping anyone and everyone in need.

May God bless each and every one of you!

With the love of Christ!

Karen

It’s an awful situation. I’m so worried and saddened at the potential that all Karen and Luckner have built could be destroyed by a bunch of madmen!

My heart breaks for all of Haiti and the madmen who are running rampant with guns and killing, raping, destroying, burning and leaving nothing for the people to live on. I am sick when I think of those I know and love who are in the wake of this rampage right now.

The evil ones have announced their plans. God is so much greater. Let us all pray for God to stop them in their tracks.

What an awful situation and can’t imagine living from day to day like that. Our prayers will be with you and especially Luckner and the people of Haiti. 🙏
