HATS-Haiti 30th Anniversary! (And School Sponsor Appeal)

As the 2024-2025 school year comes to a close, it is time to reach out to our sponsors to provide an update from Hands Across the Sea-Haiti and to ask for your continued financial support for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.

This year in June, we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Hands Across the Sea-Haiti. It is remarkable to think of how many thousands of students have been helped over the years because of your kind and generous support. You have given the gift of education and much needed nutrition to so many children. Thank you so very much. Please enjoy the picture collage that follows.

As you may know, Haiti continues to struggle under the terror of the gangs that have taken control of the country. Karen Huxter (our Founder) has been in constant communication with our Director in Haiti, Met Luckner Estimable. The terror is only miles away from the Mission and IMKH (our school: Institution Mixte Karen Huxter), and it has affected the lives of thousands of people. Yet, miraculously, Met Luckner has been able to keep our school open with only a couple shutdowns for safety throughout the year.  Once again, he has risked his life for the children and students of HATS-Haiti, and we are forever grateful for his constant diligence and care in ensuring our children are safe and our students receive a solid education.

I have a huge thank you to our school director, Met Luckner, who continues to do a phenomenal job of educating our students in very difficult times!!

It is more important than ever that we try to keep our school open, as IMKH continues to be an important refuge for students.  If you can continue to sponsor your student(s) for the 2025-2026 school year, please know you are making a vital difference in the lives of the students and their families.  Your donations are greatly needed and appreciated.
