Hands Across the Sea-Haiti employs many people from the Deschapelles area, enabling them to provide for their families and to contribute to the local economy.

Our housemothers provide loving 24-hour care for the children in our children’s home. They prepare meals, play with the kids, pray for them and care for their daily needs.

Our support staff work is essential to the day-to-day running of the mission. Their work includes tasks such as general upkeep of the mission, grounds and school, preparing meals for visiting teams, doing laundry for the children and keeping our property and children safe.
