Student Sponsorships Needed for 2018/2019 School Year
Hands Across the Sea has over 500 students in our educational sponsorship program from preschool to grade 13. We currently have 92 students who need sponsors for the 2018/2019 school year. Our sponsors are essential partners in the process of helping children get a quality education that will open doors to a better, brighter future for the country of Haiti. The heartbeat of our school, the sponsorship program is a huge help to families who would otherwise not be able to educate their children.
Your sponsorship provides funding for approximately 75% of your student’s basic fees, textbooks and material for school uniforms. A portion goes towards providing the hot meal your student receives daily. In order to encourage a sense of responsibility, commitment and ownership, parents are responsible for their child’s registration fee and approximately 25% of the student’s basic school fees.
All sponsors receive a photo of their sponsor child and a letter or drawing from their student. Sponsor student photos and letters are sent via email in early December of each year. Sponsors who travel to Haiti, when school is in operation, have the opportunity to meet and spend time with their sponsored child.

It costs only $300 per year or $25 per month to sponsor an elementary student (preschool to grade 6) and $420 per year or $35 per month for a secondary student (grade 7 to grade 13).
Here are some of the wonderful children needing sponsors. They range from 3 to 20 years of age with ambitions ranging from teachers, physiologists, nurses, doctors and more!
