Last Saturday dawned bright, sunny, hot and humid in Ottawa for the 2nd annual HATS Golf Tournament. For several years Peter Van Gulik has organized the PVG Invitational Golf Tournament. For the past 2 years Hands Across the Sea Orphanage and School have been the beneficiaries. This year we had 28 golfers supporting the cause. Most of the golfers are from the Ottawa area but we had 1 golfer, Roy Stanley from Newfoundland and of course Joan and Keith from Montreal.

Like herding cats to get everyone into their places.
What’s a golf tournament without gift bags from Reg and Kathy, Roy, Peter and Bob?
Teeing off first was the A Team of Roy, Msta Keith, Becky and Marc. Unfortunately we didn’t live up to our hype, but we had the most fun.
Reg Parsons shows the great form that won the tournament for him last year
Liz, our hostess Kathy, Miss Lydia and Joan discuss the day’s events
This year’s winning team – Curtis and Cayden Lee , Richard Simard and Jason Lind
Longest drive winner and longest distance to tournament winner – Dr. Roy Stanley with organizers Bob and Peter
The winning team can golf but they drive like Haitians….. who gets a cart stuck in the weeds on a golf course?

Madame Joan was assisted by grandson Luke as she told the golfers about HATS.
What a great day and a wonderful opportunity to tell the story of HATS to a group of supportive people. Thank you to Reg and Kathy Parsons for your hospitality. To Peter and Donna and Bob and Liz for the amazing organization, thank you and we are looking forward to next year’s event.
