Jonathan Serenading Sandra…so Sweet!

November 13, 2013 Posted by Keith Wight 2 Comments

This is Karen’s twelfth day of blog strike. She is however, very busy in the offices both at HATS and at the school.  There always seems to be a crisis or a problem that needs her hand and input. She might get a break if she lost cell phone service for a day or two.

While everyone is at school or working these two little scamps wander around the compound playing together. Once this morning when I went by, Jonathan was singing to Sandra.  They are just too precious.

The masons are back and they changed the door on the vice-principal’s office from the corridor to outside. Great work and allows for more privacy and less classroom disruption. It only took 2 days too.

Changing door to serve everyone better

Small job that is a big improvement

Luckner’s assistant can now be found more easily and can supervise the school yard

I spent the morning painting the guard house and this afternoon painting the vice-principal’s office inside. I should have finished both but the kids need me to play hockey!! Honest!!

Go Jofky go

The older boys, JJ and Moise, are pretty intense with their sports and like to crash the other players including me. I broke a stick today and they accused me of being too rough in front of the net. (That’s a first!) Anyway thanks to Cheryl, Daniel and Ella we have some spare sticks

A fun sport for all the kids, even little Sandra

The girls needed a little coaching but they were having trouble focusing.

The coach who brought hockey to HATS

Anne was not feeling any stress guarding her net.

Anne quite relaxed about the game

Leica is a very good player. She has great hand eye coordination and knows how to get open for a pass. Much to the frustration of the boys she scores a lot of goals, and taunts them with “They got nothin'”. I wonder where she learned that?

Leica quite good at hockey. Soon she can teach her little brother

And then there is my little shadow Jofky. He just wanted to be where I was and where I went all the time. I kept stepping on him and he kept smiling.

Coach Keith and his shadow

Jofky’s smile still didn’t disappear when he took a high stick from an unnamed older boy and momentarily had to leave the game with an upper body injury.

Jofky injured. Keith making it possible for him to laugh instead of cry

I like the idea of met David's door being changed. Always changes and betterments going on.
I love the hockey games too, they are becoming much better and I love the little ones playing. Anne looks quite relaxed BUT she might get a talking to from some of her team mates! haha
    Love your blogs Keith!

Thanks Barb, Sandra and Stef for the comments. Yes I am having a good time hanging with the kids a couple of small projects while they are in school.
