Busy with Computers, Cleaning, Teaching, Josie’s Birthday…and falling from the 2nd Floor?!?

January 18, 2018 Posted by Sandra MacDonald 5 Comments

It was a week ago we left home…a week already!

We went from snow to sunshine!

It has been an awesome week, as usual, and everyone has been super busy!

We have had Dickie and Jim on the roof, on several narrow ledges and in Jocelyn’s apartment, working on her water and sewer! More on that in a moment. Besides that Jim has been working on many school computers and on HATS computers!

Mr Computer

Dickie has been cleaning and fixing everything he sees that needs fixing and cleaning.

Jocelyn has been teaching Luc every morning and doing lots of other duties plus spending valuable time with the children. She is awesome with the children and I love watching her with them.

School is in

Jocelyn is a natural for workin with children

Teacher and student

Karen has been busy, as always, going in many directions at once and always has a line of people waiting to talk with her. Her list of things to get done grows instead of shrinking…even with extra help!

We had a birthday party for Josie on Sunday afternoon. She turned 12! We had cake, juice and a gift, then Jocelyn took the kids to the school yard to play games while we prepared for a surprise water balloon attack when they returned. When we were all set up Karen texted Jocelyn and she brought the kids back and we ambushed them when they came through the gate. It didn’t take long for them to find their bucket and join in. Markenson (6) has a pitching arm that makes him a candidate for the major leagues and he was behind me and pounded me with them. I was sore and still wet when I went up to bed.

We got Moise

Get Sandra guys

Now who shall I hit

Splat Jocelyn is wet

The children have all grown so much in a year. We arrived in the dark and as I was hugging each one I was getting confused as to who they were, as each was taller than I thought. As I was feeling faces to help me identify them there was a chorus of giggles. It was a fun welcome!

Back to Jim and Dickie…when they were on the second floor today, Jim fell and hit Dickie and the railing. Both are okay, Jim hit his knee (the one he a knee replacement on April 3rd)! He immediately had 2 women attending to him, Germaine and Roselene. They had ice packs on it and were massaging it! He says it is okay, just a little sore!

Keep that icepack on it

Today was the warmest since we arrived. It was 35 and I was helping Moise and JJ on top of the water tower and I am convinced it was hotter up there than on the ground!
