We have all been busy and hot! Well, the three newbies have been hot while Karen wears a down filled vest and Jocelyn a sweater or jacket!!!!!
We have given gifts to the students that sponsors sent with us. What fun to see the little ones so excited and the older ones trying to look cool!
We have measured rice, beans and cornmeal and have done up all the “love gifts” of food that go to sponsored students families. We are slowly getting the word to them to come for their gift. A parent has to come with the little students as they can’t carry it home. Many are picked up by moto or walk with another family etc. The two who came were so cute with their momma’s.
We have been mouse hunting the last few days. Karen has moved to Luc’s room and the big hunt is on. I laughed a few minutes ago as I walked in her room again to look for him/her/them and saw a hunk of cheese sitting in the middle of her floor. We have no mouse traps so I guess at least we will know if one nibbled on it or ate it all! In the hunt we captured a tarantula but still no mouse. Dickie and Jim have fixed any possible places they may have come in so it will be interesting to know if it is in or out now!
We have been working in the office a lot this week and have been successful in getting some big things done.
Jocelyn has been sick with cold/flu off and on since she returned on January 4th. I am sure she would appreciate your prayers for her. Guess it is the same strain that is at home….you start to feel better and then are under the weather again and it goes on for weeks!
As I continue this blog it is Saturday morning and we just finished a beautiful early morning walk.
All the children have completed washing their own underwear and socks and the older boys do their school uniforms too and have gone to poppa Luckner’s for the day. It is sooooo quiet here. Whatever will we do? Jim and Dickie went to work on plumbing issues in Jocelyn’s apartment and putting up shower rod etc.
The mouse hunt in Karen’s room continues. We have caught one baby rat but believe there is more still there. Traps and poison are still there and we are awaiting more fruit from our labor! We have a very talented critter in there who picks up rocks and pieces of cement and places them on the sticky paper BUT doesn’t get caught, now what could do that?
It is Sunday morning now and Karen is under the weather and Jocelyn is up and running the show, off to church we go.
