Sundays at HATS are always very special. You will not find church like this anywhere else I am sure. The singing, dancing and drum band are second to none. We got off to a slow start because the kids we up late Saturday night partying at Papa Luckner’s. Eventually everyone was showered and decked out in their finest clothes and shoes. They come to the house to pick up the tambourines, drums, songbooks, and water for break time. Then the procession starts to meander to the church.
Madame Joan presented the message on “Love your Neighbor”. She was well prepared with visual displayers on either side of her as she spoke. The kids loved it and appreciated being able to each take home a color picture from the service too.
I have always had difficulty with my daughters in organizing a family picture at Christmas or other gatherings. Somebody’s hair isn’t right or not now or whatever. In fact last Christmas I didn’t even include them and just took a picture of Joan and me with the grandchildren. The HATS kids were no different when I tried to get a couple of “family” shots on Sunday. You will notice one or two missing and a couple being less than co-operative and photogenic.
Sunday after lunch we spent in the playroom because we had monsoon type rain for about 4 hours. It was really coming down and all the walkways and roads were temporarily flooded. No hockey again…. We could have played water polo. Thankfully Dieunel and Moise seized the occasion to have much needed showers.
