We are so grateful and happy to have arrived safely at Hands Across the Sea! Mercy, Rob, Heather, Yvette, Mariah and Liette are here for the next week.
There was a lot of hurry up and wait on this trip. And napping. Waiting in the airport in Dallas. Waiting in a guest house near the airport in Port-au-Prince while waiting for the roadblocks to be cleared to travel to Deschapelles. As you can see from the photos, we have been working hard 🙂.
And excitement. We had to negotiate a few remaining roadblocks in the city and then our driver drove us expertly through the cars, people, motos, and potholes to get us to Deschapelles in record time. Then we had the better excitement of arriving and getting tons of hugs from the beautiful children here.
We look forward to working hard this week starting tomorrow and enjoying the children and the staff while we are here!
