Today was another quiet day in the Artibonite Valley. Despite large political demonstrations in Port-au-Prince, life is continuing as usual in this area. The most excitement we had today was a birthday party for three awesome kids, JJ, Moise and Karena. Delicious cake, water balloons and then a fun soccer game made for a fun time for everyone.
During the day today, Yvette, Mercy, Heather and Mariah got odd jobs done around here and spent time with the kids. Rob repaired two doors and discovered the fun of repairs in Haiti – not the right wood, not the right screws, etc. He kept at it with a smile and got both doors re-hung before dark. Liette was busy updating class lists and getting sponsorship information updated for kids who are no longer attending the school. We are still hoping that the kids will be in school Monday and Tuesday so we can get photos and letters done.
Other highlights of the day – a perfect tiny gecko, fresh coconut and a photo shoot with a machete.
