School is Open!!
Grade 1 with Markenson

School is Open!!

February 25, 2019 Posted by Keith Wight 4 Comments

And on the 18thday, Principal Luckner decreed that school would reopen.
And it did reopen and it was good.
And most of the students and all the teachers showed up for class.
And it was quiet on the compound and Karen, Joan and Keith went back to the business at hand.
And life was normal again.

It has been quiet the past couple of days. We are not sure if it is the calm before another storm or the return of sanity. The reality is that none of the underlying problems at the root of the demonstrations have been addressed so the country is still a tinderbox.

  • Prayer circle with Mama Karen before heading off to school
  • You can’t see the big smile on Mama Karen’s face as she waves goodbye
  • The school yard
  • Recess time
  • I hope Jofky remembers all the math we practiced
  • Dickieson and Magdela’s class
  • The students waiting for their healthy school meal
  • Grade 1 with Markenson

At lunchtime some of the kids asked what the activity was this afternoon. I told them to meet me at the playroom at 2:30. Today’s activity is homework! They have missed 12 days of school and exams are next month.

Stay tuned…..
Keif

Glad school has reopened. I bet the kids are glad too and maybe a lot of parents…besides Mama!
I love their afternoon activity, but I also know you can make anything fun, they will have fun no matter what.

Glad to know school is open!
And to think Keif had the nerve to say “homework” was the afternoon activity!
Still keeping you all in thoughts and prayers.

Thank you Keif for your blog! I was so excited to hear school has opened and by the expressions on the children’s faces they looked happy too. The pictures are so beautiful of the children in there uniforms. Mama Karen looked happy too…….SMILE.
Your all in our thoughts and prayers for continued calmness ,peace and protection.. God is still in control ,and .this is when we are reminded to trust and lean on Him that He will work everything out for good…Thank-you for all you do at HATS and reminding us it\s all about the children. God is so good !! Blessings ,Wendy JOY
