You may be aware that Haiti is going through another crisis which has been much in the news in the past month. There is another crisis as well and this one is not in the news. One of the fallouts of all the unrest has been a doubling and in some cases a tripling of the price of food.
Those that struggled to buy for their families before the increases now are not able to buy enough to live on. So HATS is committed to help as many as it can and thanks to your generous donations food is arriving on the compound and being distributed out into the community.
The kids are involved in this food distribution, from the arrival of the food and helping to unload it to helping measure it out for each individual family.
The families come from contacts in the community through Luckner Estimable, the principal of the school. There are many children at the school that come from families that need help at this time.
For the next few days we will have the food going out with those that arrive to collect it. It will go out on heads, in hands, and on motos.
There are many thank- yous said as each family comes for food. On their behalf we pass on the thank you to you.
