Saturday was a beautiful day in our Nation’s Capital for golf. It was also a great day for hanging out with friends, and made even better as we raised over $1500 for HATS.
The Peter Van Gulik Invitation Golf Tournament has been around for over 20 years. For the past 3 tournaments the monies raised have gone to HATS. This year we had a large contingent of out of town golfers as well. Roy flew in at the last minute from St. John’s, we had the Lee family from Peterbrough, Graydon from Hamilton and of course the Wights from Montreal.
Peter and Donna, Bob and Liz and Reg and Cathy are the brains and the organizers and all we have to do is show up. We had prizes galore and thanks to all contributors to our amazing prize table. The only thing fuller than the prize table was the food table. I was too busy loading my plate to get a picture of the dessert table!! Sorry.
Reg and Cathy were our fabulous hosts and cooks once again this year. They are also the winning golf foursome along with Curtis Lee and Aaron Patterson. Congratulations and thank you.
Honorable mention goes to the Montreal/Hamilton team as we came in 3rdbut had a bogey-free round.
And of course the evening ended with Joan telling a little bit about HATS and our adventures this past winter. A great day. Thank you everyone.
