Love early mornings

Home in Haiti

January 24, 2020 Posted by Karen Huxter 6 Comments

I wonder how many times we have said, and heard, It is good to be home!! No matter where we go, who we see, or what exciting experiences we had while away, it is always good to get home. I can honestly say ‘It Is Good To Get Back To Our Haiti Home.’

  • Sister and brother on our drive home
  • Driving to the mission

Our trip back went very well – all four flights left almost on time, all luggage transferred properly from previous flight. Luc and I were met in Miami by my daughter, Liette, and cousin, Jim, who came back to the mission with us for a couple of weeks. Luckner had arranged for us four to be met at the airport, by two vans and four security police and driven to the mission site. No problems.

  • Familar sights on the way home
  • Fish for sale
  • Hold on or be bounced off on the horrible roads
  • Best way to travel on the roads
  • Traffic on the way to HATS

Many of you realize Liette is in charge of yearly getting all school photos and thank you letters of our school sponsored students done and off to their sponsors in Canada and the US. Jim is doing the photographer duties for this years photos, and working with Liette on transferring photos and letters into the data base for our school. Liette, when back in Canada, will send every sponsor this year’s school photo and letter from their student(s). Sponsors, they are coming, albeit later than usual due to the problems in Haiti and all schools having to be closed for a period.

We will be walking on our side of the canal only and never alone. That is okay. We are thankful to be able to do that much these days.

  • Walking close to home.
  • Love early mornings

There was much joy on our compound upon our arrival, a very happy reunion indeed. Our family is together. Happy children. Happy Mama Karen.

  • Lots of hugs
  • Karen welcomed back by Luckner
  • Happy to be back at the mission again

Thank you to all who prayed for our safe arrival and to all who donated towards the Christmas party we will be having soon for our children. More photos and video clips will be posted.

God bless each and every one of you.
Karen

Hooray, hooray, hooray! It brings joy to my heart and tears to my eyes to see you and Luc back there again with the rest of your big family. I feel the excitement and am living it through your photos and blogs. So glad Liette and Jim got to go too and are doing the school photos and notes to sponsors. It is such a BIG job and an important one. Tears also come to my eyes when I see and hear what you are doing and we are not a part of it this time. I am loving you all from here. Hugs and love to everyone there.

Wow. What wonderful news to know you are home and safe. Fabulous. I could almost hear the kids screaming as you arrived. Great pics. Looking forward to hearing all the goings on over the next couple of days. I’m sure you’ll whip all the Staff and kids back into shape pronto.
