I am getting a lot of needy work done, things taken care of, and lots of time with the children. When one must stay inside the compound all the time a lot can be accomplished.
There is a huge hunger problem around us. We are doing the best we can to help alleviate some of it. Since my return we have had a good meal cooked every Sunday for all who come out to church. Our congregation is mostly students, very young to 20ish. This meal for them is important as they arrive hungry and would leave more hungry otherwise.
We prepared and distributed Gift Food packages to the students whose sponsors donated especially for food for them. Now we will continue to reach out into the community with food packages as well. Thank you to all who donated funds to help get food to the hungry.
There is no school for most of our students this week due to it being Carnival week. Two classes, however, grade 9 and grade 13 (our graduating class) do attend in the mornings as they must write the governmental exams in June. Carnival celebration for the country was cancelled due to dangerous unrest in the country. Our children, however, enjoyed a carnival party at our school on Friday. This week they have been busy inside our compound playing, constructing, and watching a video when our generator is running.

No matter what is happening in the country our children are well looked after and happy here at HATS.
HATS-Haiti truly is ALL ABOUT THE CHILDREN.
Proverbs 14:21 “He who despises his neighbour sins, but blessed is he who is kind to the needy.”
God bless you.
