Everyone has heard about the devastating earthquake in the Southwest of Haiti. It is heartbreaking, gut wrenching, and extremely painful as I can picture it all and know what they are going through. I want to be there. I want to help but that, of course, is not possible. Thank you to all who reached out to me after hearing about the quake. Thank you very much for your continued care for us, for your support, your prayers and your encouragement.
The Artibonite where HATS-Haiti is located was spared any damage. The children and employees at the mission stood in the middle of our yard, feeling the ground moving beneath their feet, and feeling thankful that we did not sustain any damage this time.
Luckner has continued to take care of everything at the mission and has managed to keep everyone healthy, no one has had Covid although there has been a lot in our area, including some in our school in June.
He has done the registration of all students for the school year and has given all sponsored students uniform fabric. School reopens again in September. He has not yet received the results of our students who had to write the difficult government exams.
A reminder to those who are sponsoring a student at our school, IMKH, and have not yet sent in your sponsorship funds, that it is time to do so. It is needed for your student for this coming school year. Thank you to those who have already taken care of it. We sincerely hope our school can function without interruption September 2021 to June 2022. Remember, when you help a student receive an education you are blessing both the student and the student’s family, now and for the future.
Thank you. God bless you all.
Love, Karen
