Hello loving friends, family members and supporters.

February 11, 2023 Posted by Karen Huxter 11 Comments

I come to you today asking for prayer for our HATS mission – Children’s Home, school, and our HATS church.
The armed gangs who have been so violent in other areas of Haiti are now wrecking havoc in the Artibonite Valley, where our mission sits. The arrival of gang members has made things unbearable for our mission and for many others who live in the valley. Many people in our area have left their homes and are moving from place to place daily to try to stay safe.

The gang members, with huge and powerful guns, arrived at an area not very far from HATS during the night on Wednesday. Guns were blazing, people were killed and others wounded.

Haiti has been, for some years now a country of insecurity, kidnapping, robbing, killing, gang raping of women and girls. Now this is going on in our area.

At this time, no businesses are operating, no schools are open, and people are daily looking for places to stay in hiding. This includes our HATS people.

We solicit your prayers for our whole mission, our leadership, our employees, our children, our school students and their families, and our teachers. Please pray for protection, provision, and for God to provide a solution to this horrible situation.

This intense suffering of our HATS people and the many others of this once peaceful valley is very real.

Thank you for praying with us. God bless you.

Karen
