Update March 18

Update March 18

March 18, 2023 Posted by Karen Huxter 4 Comments

Hi folks.

Thank you to those of you who have reached out to me in various ways as you are wondering how things are in our area of Haiti now.

Things are still bad in our area. Luckner has asked me to say thank you for your prayers. He  can feel the prayers of many. He solicits the continuation of them.

Many people continue to sleep in the bushes. Many others are still sleeping in other towns around us.

On Tuesday this past week the bandits were patrolling and checking the area all day. Luckner had to run to get the children out of the house they were hiding in and hidden elsewhere.  On that day several of the bandits were killed but also people of our area too. All of them in our area spent the night watching as the bandits were checking buildings more carefully.

On Wednesday the bandits continued to patrol and search the area. That day the police watched carefully but held off and the bandits did not use their guns. Everyone in the area were watching and prepared to run and hide in the bushes again.

Folks, they are all suffering greatly under these bandits. They can never sleep or even relax. But God is always there for them as they have been, and still are, protected. Your prayers are so important to keep them safe. Please continue to pray as Luckner said every day that passes and they are okay is a miracle of God.

During the night on Tuesday, after Luckner had moved all the children out of the house they had been hiding in and hidden elsewhere I received a message from my eldest boy asking for prayer for the children as they were all very scared. It just broke my heart. This is no way for children to live!!!

I continue to read and speak Psalm 91 over Luckner, our children and those in our area.  Verses 14, 15, and 16.
“Because he loves me”, says the lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Thank you so very much for praying for their protection.

God bless you all.

Love, Karen
